Neptune · The mechanism
The gravity of good.
From a meme to a funded round, from a private credential to a public payment.
NUL → TAX / DONATION → VAULT → FUNDED ROUND → ZK PROOF → BNB GRANT
01 / One universe, three roles
Null Orbit connects community attention, a BNB treasury and private grant eligibility. NUL carries the meme; the Vault holds the funding; Semaphore proves a member can claim without publishing which application belongs to the proof.
Participants can collect and trade NUL, donate BNB directly, or apply for support. Buying a token is not an eligibility requirement. A token is not a grant claim, ownership of the treasury or a promise of investment returns.
02 / The destination comes first
The launch is one Flap V3 transaction. VaultPortal calls the factory to create and initialize the Vault before NUL is created and bound to it. The treasury destination is therefore part of launch configuration from the start.
The launch uses BNB Chain, chain ID 56, with BNB as the funding asset. Token, Vault and charter are checked against the confirmed launch event before the website publishes their live state.
03 / Attention becomes a funding flow
The launch defaults to a 2% buy tax and a 2% sell tax; the project factory allows no more than 5% for either. Actual tax rules and their duration are fixed by the confirmed launch configuration.
One hundred percent of the allocated marketing-tax share is directed to the Vault, with zero factory commission. Flap protocol charges are separate. Tax distribution follows the protocol processor; the treasury is credited when funds actually arrive.
At a 2% rate, a taxable base valued at 1 BNB corresponds to a nominal tax value of 0.02 BNB. Actual receipts depend on processing and conversion, with protocol charges separate. This explains the rate; it does not predict trading volume or guarantee future donations. Direct BNB donations use the same treasury ledger without minting a token.
04 / A funded orbit for every round
Incoming BNB forms the treasury balance. An open round reserves grant amount × member count before anyone claims. Available budget is the balance remaining after outstanding reserves; the same BNB cannot fund two rounds at once.
For example, ten members receiving 0.1 BNB each require 1 BNB already in the Vault. Within one round the amount is equal for every eligible member. A round requires at least five members and a claim window between 7 and 180 days.
A successful claim reduces balance and reserved budget by the same grant amount. When a round expires, unclaimed reserves can be released for a later funded round. Reserved funds and completed grants are shown separately.
05 / A private identity, a public commitment
The applicant creates a Semaphore v4 identity on their device and saves its private recovery file. Only the public commitment is submitted with the application. The private identity secret is not uploaded and cannot be recovered by the platform.
Eligible commitments form a Merkle group for a grant round. The chain stores its group root, grant amount, number of slots, deadline and the hash of its public report. The group root commits to the eligible set without requiring a public name list.
The group provides the cryptographic membership set. It is not a claim that cryptography can judge real-world need or prevent every duplicate real-world identity. Application data remain subject to the privacy statement.
06 / Proof turns eligibility into a payment
A member imports their recovery file and chooses a public recipient address. Their device generates a real Semaphore Groth16 proof of membership in the selected funded round. The secret stays on that device.
The proof is bound to the chain, Vault and round through its scope, and to the recipient through its message. The verifier checks membership; a nullifier records that this identity has already claimed in this round.
Replacing the recipient, reusing a claimed proof or submitting it for a different round is rejected. Another wallet may submit the transaction and pay gas; the BNB still goes only to the address bound inside the proof.
Private eligibility does not shield the payment. Recipient, amount, timing, transaction sender and gas payer are public on BNB Chain. A separate receipt shows the payment without identifying the originating application.
07 / How the universe tells the story
Earth is the community starting point. Lunar space expresses the incoming funding flow. Jupiter is the shared Vault. Saturn expresses funded grant rounds. Mercury is the private credential journey. Neptune explains the complete mechanism, and deep space holds the original visual archive.
Gravity is a metaphor for meme participation; an orbit is a reserved budget; light is a completed act of support. The original real-time camera moves between these spaces while the Vault panel reads actual chain data.
The animated planets and star fields are the narrative map, not a live price chart or a measurement of treasury size. Actual balances, rounds and payments are presented in the Vault with a block snapshot.
08 / A cycle that keeps good work moving
Community activity and direct donations supply BNB; funds support fully budgeted rounds; eligible members prove a single claim; completed grants remain visible in the ledger. New funding can begin the next round.
The first mission is Quiet Builders: privacy developers, independent researchers and artists. Support is not conditional on public promotion, token purchases or promises of financial return.
Until an on-chain launch is confirmed and a round is funded, the site displays the actual waiting state. Applications can be submitted, but an application is not a guaranteed grant.
